Deviation Actions
Please, please read this in the Journal tab so the deviations display correctly, they look badly collated on my profile page!
I've been meaning to write this journal for... probably about a year As I've travelled the paths of dA I've seen things that remind me of my childhood home and have collected them for the beautiful memories and would now like to share them.
I was born in the town (now a large town I believe) of High Wycombe in Bucks (Buckinghamshire) in England in 1956. When I was 11 we moved to the countryside and I spent 4 idyllic years (when I wasn't at school) wandering the farmland and woods surrounding our family home. These years were very, very precious to me and I will cherish the English countryside inside my head for the rest of my life.
When I was 15 we got on a cruise ship and sailed away to Australia to live and I have never returned to the UK. Well, not yet anyway.
Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures that have kept these memories so fresh for me. Even though quite a few of these deviations were not taken in the UK, they were familiar sights to me when I lived there.
I remember this one - the actual place, not just one like it.
I won't talk about each picture, but mostly they are the sights of nature that I loved so much for my final 4 years in the UK. I could hear a donkey bray each morning from my bedroom and pick fresh hazelnuts from the tree just a few feet away. But anyway, if you have any questions about the memories of any specific deviation, just ask. And now I'll be quiet and share the beauty.

Craft Faves
Hello Everyone
My life is still enjoying some peace and I'm *loving* it!!! We've had a lovely warm day today, and warmer still forecast for tomorrow. Spring is here, and I'm spring cleaning my house, tidying and sorting as well as cleaning top to bottom. I've always loved everything clean and tidy, but that was all out the window this past year; I only had time for damage control cleaning LOL Now my windows are sparkling ~Stars-plz (https://www.deviantart.com/stars-plz) I still have a long way to go on the sorting out though :work:
Today I tried fasting for the first time. It's not true fasting because I was drinking coffee, to which I add a little coconut milk,
Beautiful Art
Hello dear Friends,
My life is returning to some form of peace after a frantic time over the past year. The crazy pace stopped suddenly, with the weekend of 15th Aug holding an 80th birthday surprise party that I threw for my mother, my granddaughter's 10th birthday (blacklight disco) and the annual miniaturists show. After that I finished crocheting a necklace for my daughter-in-law and a scarf for myself. And suddenly found myself with no miniature project on the go, no parties to plan for, and just a small crochet project - a 2D bouquet of flowers that will go on a garment - but what garment? Instead of being happy at being free (at l
Gazebo Show and Tell
~flyingheartsplz (https://www.deviantart.com/flyingheartsplz) Hello dear Friends and Watchers :iconflyingheartsplz:
Well, as you are all probably too well aware, my recent big project was a Gazebo Garden, set during Springtime in England. For my own sake as much as anything else, and because my YouTube video failed in the sound department about half way through (their fault, not mine - the original film is fine), I thought I'd assemble some photos and include some chat about methods and equipment used - if anyone cares a jot ;)
The gazebo began as a 'flat pack' kit in plain wood. I actually bought it from our one 'minis' shop, which is of course far, far away from home :giggle:
Birthday Gifts
Hello to all my dear, dear friends here on dA
I have been the most awful friend, and it's pretty much a year now since I dropped out of my full dA life. I have neglected you all so badly. And yet for my recent birthday the greetings and gifts of friendship and photographs poured in. You are all, truly, The Absolute Best. I truly don't feel that I deserved for anyone here to remember me, and it just goes to show how amazing you all are.
Thank you so very, very much!
These were my beautiful birthday gifts. Thank you all for the beauty of your giving hearts and the time you took in creating and uploading the gifts for me, it means such a
